The IGI Poseidon Pipeline intends to connect Greece with Italy, via a 207 km long subsea pipeline, from the coast of Thesprotia to the coast of Otranto, Italy. The diameter of the pipeline will be 32 inches and the projected initial transport capacity will be 8bcm/y, with the possibility of increasing to 12bcm/y. According to the current strategy, the Poseidon pipeline is expected to be supplied with natural gas from East Med with which will be connected in Igoumenitsa.
