The project concerns an Electrical Energy Storage Station (EES) using electrochemical accumulators (batteries). Its location is planned to be NW of the settlement of Levea in the Municipality of Amyntaio. It is an individual Electrical Energy Storage Station with a total capacity of 250 MW with its supporting-accompanying works. The storage system will consist of Container-type houses, will have a maximum injection power of 250MW, a maximum absorption power of 250MW and a total guaranteed (useful) capacity of 1000MWh.
In addition, the installation of Medium Voltage houses is planned. The interconnection between battery houses and voltage boosting houses is proposed to be carried out with underground cables, while an overhead Medium Voltage line will depart from the Medium Voltage houses to an adjacent Substation.
